A Teacher won the first Miss Earth Guam Beauty Pageant.
Guam, under the tutelage of the Miss Earth National Organizer Frank Santos, has organized its very first Miss Earth exclusive beauty pageant held at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort last night 10 June 2009.
The grand coronation night that received enthusiastic reviews witnessed the crowning of Maria Luisa Santos as the new Miss Earth Guam 2009. She was crowned by Miss Earth 2008 Karla Henry. Malou Santos, who is a heavy favorite, won most of the minor awards such as Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Native Costume and Miss Photogenic.
Malou, 24, is from the village of Dededo. A teacher and an enthusiast of photography and cars.
The elemental titles were given to Tonilynn Dotts as Miss Air Guam, Tiffany de Gracia as Miss Water, Shirley Chu as Miss Fire and the Miss Eco-Tourism title went to Madison Burkhart.
The show that culminated the competition of 15 delegates was also graced by Miss Earth Foundation Executive Directress Catherine Untalan. Sandra Seifert, Miss Earth Philippines 2009 is supposed to join the event but was advised not to travel.
Miss Earth 2009 finals will be held on 25 October 2009.
