Following the announcement and confirmation from the Miss Universe Organization in New York of Kiara Sherman as the official winner of the title, and the resignation of first runner up and Miss Earth bahamas, Ife Bethel-Sears, here is the list of the 2009 Miss Bahamas Universe Queen and Court.

Former Miss International Bahamas (Amanda Appleyard) have taking the reign to become Miss Earth Bahamas 2009.

The Organization have decided the new Miss International Bahamas 2009 went to Krystle Brown.

Miss Bahamas Earth 2009

Breaking news now coming to Bahamas Press now confirm that more controversy is spewing out of the Miss Bahamas beauty pageant committee. We’ve just learned that Ife Bethel- Sears (picture), Miss Earth Bahamas and first runner up of the pageant, has relinquished her crown. Bethel-Sears released a press statement to members of the public confirming her decision.

Kiara Sherman was crowned Miss Bahamas Universe 2009 under the theme “A Taste of the Bahamas Through Elegance” at the Nassau Wyndham Resorts, Rain Forest Theatre on Sunday, May 25th.

The pageant has suffered suspicion in its judging system, where some judges argued against the winner of the event. Bethel-Sears is the daughter of the former Minister of Education and Attorney General of the Bahamas Alfred Sears.

Statement from Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization regarding Miss Bahamas Universe Judging System:

“After independently reviewing the ballots and methodology from the 2009 Miss Bahamas Universe Competition we have been able to verify the results of this year’s competition. Keira Sherman is the winner and will represent the Bahamas at the 2009 Miss Universe Competition at Atlantis, Paradise Island.”

Miss Bahamas World 2009

A 17 year-old beauty of Grand Bahamas , Joanna Brown was crowned Miss Bahamas World 2009 during the pageant held at Rainforest Theatre, Cable Beach on 31th May 2009.

The 1.83 m-tall beauty Bahamas will represent Bahamas in 2009 Miss World Pageant.

Miss World 2009 , the 59th Beauty World Pageant will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia will crown her successor , Miss World 2008 . About 120 contestants are expected to attend the event.

Miss Bahamas Universe 2009

A beautiful girl 25 year-old Kiara Sherman was crowned Miss Bahamas Universe 2009 during the event held on May 24 at Black Tie Affair, Nassau Wyndham Resorts, Rain Forest Theatre. She will will represent Bahamas in Miss Universe 2009 Beauty Contest.

Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe beauty pageant, will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau,Bahamas on August 23, 2009. Dayana Mendoza, from Venezuela, winner of Miss Universe 2008, will crown her successor in the event.
