Miss Brazil World 2009

The winner of Miss World Brazil 2009 (Miss Mundo Brasil) is from Roraima. Twenty-two year-old Luciana de Souza Silvia Reis who stands 1.70 meters was surprised when her name was called. She will represent Brazil at the Miss World 2009 pageant in December in London and Johannesburg, South Africa.

Luciana is the sister of Miss World Brazil 1998 who went on to become a semi-finalist at the Miss World pageant on the same year in Seychelles.

The pageant which was participated by 39 candidates was concluded last 4 July 2009 in Angra dos Reis

First Runner-up is Barraquer Livia Barbosa of Espiritu Santo and Second Runner-up is Livia Nepomuceno da Silva of Distrito Federal.

There were 16 semi-finalists and 6 of these were winners of fast track events. They are Miss Parana, Miss Beauty with a Purpose; Miss Bahia, most voted by internet users; Miss Ilha do Campeche, Miss Sports; Pernambuco, Miss Talent; Rio de Janeiro, Miss Beach Beauty and Miss Sergipe, Best Model Brazil.

The other 10 semi-finalists who were not winners of any fast track events are Misses Acre, Espiritu Santo, Ilhalbela, Distrito Federal, Rio Grande de Norte, Mato Grosso, Paraiba, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais and Roraima.

From 16 semi-finalists, they were trimmed down to only 6 finalists. They were Misses Sergipe, Roraima, Distrito Federal, Espirito Santo, Pernambuco and Acre.

Miss Brazil International 2009

20 years model, Rayanne Fernanda de Morais representing the State of Minas Gerais was crowned Miss Brazil International.

Twenty-seven the most beautiful women from all over Brazil , were gathered in Sao Paulo for the glamorous event of the year, Miss Brazil Pageant 2009. The pageant was televised live nationwide with co-hosts of two former Miss Brazil titleholders

The night was glittery and the beauties competed on eco-friendly stage and showcased some beautiful gowns and two styles of swimsuits, a bikini type and a black one piece. The 13 distinguish judges picked Miss Minas Gerais, Rayanne Morais a mega crown favourite as the new Miss Brazil International 2009, who had already bagged home the best State Costume Award during an event held earlier. The beautiful and radiant model won cash and jewel and most importantly will carry the flag of Brazil competing for the 2009 Miss International Beauty Pageant to be staged in Japan later this year.

A pageant about improving climate, the 2009 Miss Brazil event adopted the theme of "The natural wealth of the country." Hence, elements typically national and golden grass, jute, lace and stones appeared throughout the event are eco-friendly. The soundtrack also contributed to the "Brazilian climate.”

Miss Brazil Earth 2009

Belo Horizonte, BRAZIL - Larissa Ramos, the representative of Amazonas, was crowned Miss Earth Brazil 2009 in Belo Horizonte last Friday night.

The 1st runner-up (Miss Earth Brazil Air) was the candidate from Pará, Naiane Alves (1st from left)

The 2nd runner-up (Miss Earth Brazil Water) was Luana Athar of Rondônia (2nd from right)

The 3rd runner-up (Miss Earth Brazil Fire) was Débora Lira of Espírito Santo (1st from right)

The winner will get prepared to represent Brazil at Miss Earth 2009, in the Philippines.

Miss Brazil Universe 2009

Sao Paulo: Larissa Costa, a 25 year-old Miss Rio Grande do Norte, was crowned Miss Brazil Universe 2009 during an event held on 9th May 2009 at Memorial of Latin America, Sao Paulo.

A new beauty queen stands 1.76 m will represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant. While Rayanne Moraisof Minas Gerais, was the 1st runner-up, and will compete in Miss International contest.

Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe beauty pageant, will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau,Bahamas on August 23, 2009. Dayana Mendoza, from Venezuela, winner of Miss Universe 2008, will crown her successor in the event.
