Miss Peru World 2009

Claudia María Carrasco Sarrio, Miss Cuzco 21 year-old, was crowned Miss World Peru 2009 during the beauty pageant held at the Circuito de Aguas Park in Lima.

Claudia Carrasco was crowned by Miss World 2004, Maria Julia Mantilla Garcia. She will represent Peru at the Miss World 2009 beauty contest at Johannesburg, South Africa next December.

While crownd favorite Miss Pasco, Tatiana Simon was judged the 1st runner-up, and received the title Miss Tourism Queen Peru 2009. She will represent the country at Miss Tourism Queen 2009 in China next month.

Miss Peru Earth 2009

Jessica Shialer Tejada representing Ayacucho was elected as Miss Peru Earth 2009 in the recently concluded Miss Peru 2009 pageant today organized by Corporación Nacional de la Belleza. She was awarded by Frieda Holler.

Jessica is one of the favorites among the 22 fabulous delegates competing for the national titles.

Minor awards were handed out during the pageant: Miss Ica as Rostro Me Bello, Miss Huanuco as Mejor Sonnisa, Miss Junin as Miss Personalidad and Miss Huanuco as Miss Photogenic.

Three minor awards were handed over during the pre-pageant activities namely: Best Hair and Look or "Mejor Look y Cabello" on 24 Mar. which went to Miss Ica, Sofia del Phinho; Miss Fitness on 26 Mar. which went to Miss Amazonas, Karen Schwarz; and Miss Aquavit on 01 Apr. which went to Miss Tacna, Karen Menéndez Salas.

Sitting among the jury is former Miss Asia Pacific 1994 Jessica Tapia who was invited by one of the pageant organizers, Frieda Holler. Jessica accepted the invitation to commemorate 15 years since she won the Miss Asia Pacific crown in Cebu City, Philippines.

Also, present on stage to award the winners is Miss Peru Earth 2008 Giuliana Zevallos who is looking so classy and elegant. The coronation was held at the La Hacienda Villa de Chorrilos.

Miss Peru Universe 2009

LIMA - A beauty professional model 24 year-old Karen Schwarz Espinoza was crowned the title Miss Perú Universo 2009 at the beauty pageant held at the Hacienda Villa de Chorillos, in Lima, Perú on April 4th. 22 Beauty Candidates completed in the event.

Karen is represent Amazons and 1.78 m tall. She will complete at the Miss Universe 2009 pageant on August 23, 2009 in Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas.

While Jessica Shialer, beauty queen Ayacucho, was named 1st runner-up. Jessica will represent her coumtry in Miss Earth 2009 in the Philippines.
